Brief Biography
Vyacheslav Kharchenko received his Control Systems Engineering degree at the Kharkiv Higher Rocket College (Ukraine, 1974), PhD in Technical Science at the Military Academy named after Dzerzhinsky (Moscow, Russia, 1981) and Doctor of Technical Science degree in Kharkiv Military University (Ukraine,1995). He was a lecturer, an associate Professor of the Department of Technical Cybernetics and Microprocessor Systems (1980-1987), Professor and Head of the Department of Space Complexes Control Systems and Maintenance, Kharkiv Military University (1987-2000). 2000 he is a Professor and the Head of the Since Computer Systems and Networks Department, National Aerospace University "KhAI". Gold medal of the USSR National Economy Achievements Exhibition (1980), Honoured inventor of Ukraine (1991), Pilyugin Medal of the Russian Cosmonautics Federation (2002), several grants of European countries for guest researcher and Conference participation (1997-2002), British Royal Society grant (2003-2004). His research interests include multiversion design technologies, dependable computing and control systems, fault-tolerance and survivable applications, software reliability assessment and expert analysis. He is co-author of more than 140 scientific papers, reports and book chapters, more than 500 inventions, edited and co-edited more than 20 books in mentioned and related areas. He was the principal investigator of several projects on dependable systems development and a consultant in a number of I&C NPP. Now he is a leading researcher on safety related software of State Science-Technical Center of Nuclear and Radiation Safety (Ukraine).
